Set SMART objectives for your social media strategy that are aligned with your business goals. Then you can be sure all your activity on social has a purpose.
If your goal is to generate revenue via your website, look at what your current website traffic is and how much of it comes from your social networks. Set some objectives with targets to improve on this e.g. ‘drive 1000 website sessions referred from Facebook during November.’
If your goal is to build on your customer engagement, one objective might be to ‘increase Twitter engagement rate to 5% by the end of the year.
When you know what your goals are, you can then decide on clear and measurable objectives that help to achieve them, bearing in mind what specific social networks can do and which work best for you.
