Have you taken advantage of these free Facebook page features? They’re all worth doing to help to optimise your business page.
Facebook Publishing Tools
If you don’t publish on multiple networks, you don’t need external software to plan your Facebook updates. You can access Facebook publishing tools at the top of your business page and do the following:
- Create draft posts which you can edit and schedule or publish at a later date. Perfect for when you have an idea and don’t want to forget it.
- Schedule a number of posts for the next week or two at any date or time of your choosing. Great if you have a couple of hours free and some content ready to schedule.
- Publish directly – although you can obviously do this from the main page too.
Pages to Watch
One of the lesser known Facebook page features is the Pages to Watch section. In the Overview section of your Facebook page Insights (scroll down to the bottom) is a section for you to add pages you want to watch.
You can add competitors, partner businesses, any pages you want to be able to keep an eye on. The data available is a seven day summary of some basic metrics:
- total page likes
- Movement of total pages likes since the previous week
- The number of posts that page has published
- The number of posts engagements (reactions, comments etc)
This can be useful to benchmark your network size and performance. If you click on one of the other pages you will see their most engaging posts that week which can be either inspiring or annoying – it depends which pages you watch!
Verify Your Page
Give Facebook a publicly listed phone number to call and you’ll receive a verification code to enter on your page. Simple and worth doing!
Call to Action button
The blue button underneath the cover photo on your page is a ‘call to action’ button you can use in a number of ways:
- Call Now
- Send Email
- Shop Now
- Contact Us
- Watch Video
You can change this button as often as you like and choose whether people go to your website, a sign up form or get in touch directly with you. This is a great Facebook page feature that makes it easier for people to get in touch or engage with a particular web page or video.
There are several different page templates that Facebook offers, each slightly different, and designed to suit different types of page including: business, politician, venue not for profit and others.
Whilst they all include a different order of tabs (posts, videos, offers etc) and different buttons for the call to action, they are all customisable so you can edit them as you please. Worth a look though to see if you could improve your page.
